CPAP/BIBAP Supplies

Understanding CPAP and BiPAP Supplies

CPAP and BiPAP machines rely on a variety of supplies to function effectively and comfortably. This includes masks, hoses, cushions, filters, and headgear, all of which are essential for delivering consistent therapy throughout the night. We carry all major masks, including ResMed, Respironics, and Fisher & Paykel. Proper maintenance and regular replacement of these supplies help ensure treatment effectiveness and hygiene.

Why Supplies Are Necessary

Using the correct supplies is crucial for both comfort and therapy success. Masks that fit well prevent air leaks, hoses and filters maintain proper airflow, and regularly replaced cushions help reduce skin irritation. These components are designed to work with your machine to optimize breathing and overall sleep quality.

Insurance Coverage Details

Many insurance plans provide coverage for CPAP and BiPAP supplies, often including replacement on a regular schedule. Patients may still be responsible for deductible or co-pay amounts. Coverage specifics, including the frequency of replacements, vary by plan, so it’s important to check with your insurance provider. Typically, most insurance plans cover six disposable filters every three months, one non-disposable filter, heated tubing, and a mask. Full-face masks generally receive three cushions, while nasal masks receive six cushions. Additionally, the chamber and headgear are usually covered every six months.

Prescription and Medical Necessity

CPAP and BiPAP supplies are considered medically necessary and must be used in conjunction with a prescribed therapy device. Your provider will determine the appropriate type and size of mask, hose, and other components to ensure safe and effective treatment tailored to your needs.
